This Privacy Policy explains how Veromtec / Roman Liskin (“Veromtec,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use Ad Trap (the “App”).
Ad Trap is designed to help users identify the app that launches unwanted jumped/spam popup ads after all apps are closed and the phone is idle on the Android home screen. The App uses a user-enabled Android Accessibility service only for this catcher functionality.
By installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.
The information collected or accessed depends on the features you use and the permissions you grant. The App is designed to store catcher history and preferences locally on your device.
We may receive information that you voluntarily provide, including:
The App does not require account registration or sign-in for the core spam-ad catcher functionality.
The App may request permission for an Android Accessibility service. This permission is not enabled automatically. The user must review the in-app disclosure and then enable the service in Android settings.
While the catcher is armed, the Accessibility service may observe foreground-window changes reported by Android. This can include:
This information is used to identify the app that likely opened the jumped/spam popup and to add it to the local caught-app list.
The Accessibility service is not used to:
When a suspected spam app is caught, the App may store a local record on your device. A caught-app record may include:
This data is stored locally so you can review detected apps, reopen Android app settings, remove items from the list, or clear the history. The App may keep a limited number of recent local detection records.
The App may store local settings and preferences, including language, theme, appearance preferences, catcher state, onboarding/disclosure state, notification settings, and other functionality preferences.
The App may request notification permission to show local alerts when a spam app is detected and to provide shortcuts to inspect the detected app in Android settings.
The App may display advertisements through third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob. If ads are enabled, advertising providers may collect or process information such as:
Advertising partners may use this information to show personalized or non-personalized ads, measure performance, prevent fraud, and improve ad services.
The current Ad Trap catcher functionality is intentionally limited. Unless a future feature clearly states otherwise, the App does not:
We use information for the following purposes:
We do not sell users’ personal information.
Ad Trap uses Android Accessibility only for the specific purpose of identifying which foreground app opened a jumped/spam popup after the user intentionally arms the catcher and leaves the phone idle on the Android home screen.
The App presents a prominent in-app disclosure before sending the user to Android Accessibility settings. The service is user-controlled and can be disabled at any time from Android settings.
The Accessibility service is not intended to assist users with disabilities and is not used as a general device-control tool. It is used only for the spam-ad detection feature described above.
The App may use third-party services to provide, maintain, advertise, secure, or improve the App. These third parties may collect information according to their own privacy policies.
Third-party services or external apps may include:
We do not sell your personal information. We may share or allow processing of information in the following limited situations:
If ads, analytics, crash reporting, support, or other service providers are used, information may be processed as necessary to operate those services.
If ads are enabled, advertising partners such as Google AdMob may process information for ad delivery, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention.
If you choose to report a detected app, contact support, open Google Play, open WhatsApp, or share information through another app, the information you share will be handled according to that third party’s terms and privacy policy.
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, government request, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of users, Veromtec, the App, or others.
Most Ad Trap data is stored locally on the user’s device. Local data may remain until the user clears it, clears app data, or uninstalls the App.
